Michael Nollas - DirectorMichael commenced his mining career in 1990 working underground at KCGM. Through his 8 yrs underground at Mt Charlotte he became an active member of the mine rescue team. From this he acquired a passion for Emergency Response both in a pro-active and re-active sense. With his mining experience and also mine rescue experience he made a decision to commence a career within the mining field and the peripheral industries as a Training Consultant based on teaching all facets of emergency response. Michael worked as a consultant until 2002 where upon he sort out and set up Riklan from scratch. Within the first three months Riklan had to employ two more trainers to allow for demand. 2004 saw the opening of the Riklan Training Centre in Kalgoorlie designed around the fact that we could collectively place individuals into one course from all facets of the industry, opposed to one company trying to fill a classroom entirely from their own workforce. Michael has achieved success along the way with three consecutive Best Captain Trophies, a number of winning team titles and of recent, presented with the prestigious Harry Steinhauser Award. Michael aims for Riklan to be the premier emergency management and occupational health and safety educational service in the mining and service industry sector in the Southern Hemisphere. Michael is most grateful for the clients and team of people that have helped make Riklan Emergency Management Services the success that it is today. Michael is married to Toni who also works within the business and has 3 children. Michael welcomes all business and looks forward to being able to assist you with any training or safety requirements. |
Toni Nollas - DirectorToni gave up hairdressing to become involved in the running of Riklan when the Training Centre opened in 2004. Toni began in reception but took some time away when baby number 3 came along. In Tonis absence, administration staff were employed. Toni now works one day per week to process invoices and payroll. Toni is married to Michael who is also a Director within the business. |
Kurt Vossebelt - Training ManagerKurt began his career in the underground mining industry in 1989 and has been involved in mine rescue since 1993. In 2001 Kurt changed his career and began to train emergency response personnel both in the mining and industrial sectors, joining Riklan in 2002 as a training consultant. Kurt has thorough knowledge and technical expertise in the field of Emergency Response training his qualifications include Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and multiple emergency response certificates. Kurt is currently the Training Manager at Riklan and is striving to gain Riklan’s objective to make our training delivery the best that it can possibly be. Kurt’s motto is ‘never say you can’t, as everything is possible until you prove it wrong and then you try again.’ |
Fran Gould - Accounts Payable/ RTO AdministratorFran started at Riklan in early 2007 working in reception and accounts payable, when Riklan became a registered training organisation in November 2008 Fran moved from reception and began to look after the RTO aspect of Riklan, administering Student Management Systems, issuing certificates, AVETMISS Reporting & AQTF Compliance. Fran supports the training facilitators on a day to day basis with travel arrangements and mine site access. |
Emma Cullen - OHS ConsultantEmma has been in the mining industry since 2001. Emma started in an administrative role and soon after realised that she wanted to make a difference in the Health & Safety field. After participating in a Graduate Program, Emma moved into a permanent Safety Coordinator’s role and has been in similar roles ever since. Emma has her Diploma in OH&S and is looking to carry out further studies in OH&S. Emma has primarily worked in surface mining in the Goldfields and has recently relocated from Port Hedland where she was working in Port & Rail Operations. |
Kelly Bodman - Training ConsultantKelly has worked for a total of 9 years in both the surface and underground mining industry from 2001 he was part of an Emergency Response Team. In 2006 Kelly joined Riklan as an Emergency Response Training Consultant he has numerous certificates in Emergency Response, Certificate lV in Training and Assessment and is currently studying Occupational Health and Safety. Kelly is well known for his creative emergency response scenarios, loves a challenge and believes anything is achievable. |

Robert Atkins - Training ConsultantRob started in the mining industry in 1992 where he completed an apprenticeship as a mechanical fitter and continued in that trade, as well as leadership roles until 2008 in both surface and underground mining before joining Riklan in 2008 as a Training Consultant. During that time Rob was involved in emergency response for 10 years and volunteer fire brigades for 5 years. Rob has thorough knowledge and technical expertise in the field of Emergency Response training. His qualifications include Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training and multiple emergency response certificates to obtain Certificate III in Public Safety (Fire Fighting and Emergency Operations), Certificate IV in Emergency Care and St Johns Industrial Medic. Robs mottos are - Nothing is impossible if you really try, and It can always be worse!! |
Marcus Jefferies - Training ConsultantMarcus has worked in the mining industry since 1993, predominantly in the mineral processing field, within gold and nickel sectors. During this time, Marcus covered several roles including Leading Hand/ Shift Boss, Gold Room Foreman, Operations & Training Coordinator and Shift Trainer. Marcus was an active volunteer in his site Emergency Response Team for 4 years and a Fire Rescue Volunteer for 16 years. Marcus joined Riklan as a Forklift Training Consultant in 2006 in a part time capacity. Marcus is a Registered Work Safe Assessor for LF & WP courses. Marcus has numerous certificates in Emergency Response, Certificate lV in Training and Assessment, High Risk License in LF, WP, CN, DG, Diploma in OH&S and Certificate in Senior First Aid. |
